I am baffled by the number of negative reviews for US Bank. I have had an account with them since they took over Mercantile Bank in the 90's. I have had checking, savings, line of credit, personal loans, auto loans, credit card and home mortgage accounts with them - and have yet to have my first problem with anything.
I am not wealthy; I probably make less than most people who are regulars on this website. But when I have the need to work with someone at the bank, I have never been treated with less than the utmost respect and courtesy. I was turned down for one loan request and the reasons for the denial were perfectly valid - but they did not try to make me feel like less of a valued client when explaining the reason.
My only complaints with US Bank are minor things; I wish they offered the option to set up transfers to external accounts and their interest rate on savings is just about the lowest I have seen, so the majority of my savings are held elsewhere. But other than that I really can't say that I have experienced anything which would cause me to have the opinion I have seen in these other reviews.
