From Bankrate.com:

One can not avoid tax and death in one's life.  Everyone hates taxes.  But I hate bad surprises even more; thus a good tax planning to avoid such terrble tax surprises.

Uh, correction: I don't hate taxes. They're a good thing, potentially, and if managed properly. I dislike tax cheaters.

I am not so sure. The survey did not take into account the passage of Prop 30 last year, which increased the sales tax by 1/2 percentage point and raised the top marginal rate to 13.3%. We may have dislodged you from your number one ranking, unless NY intends to raise the pot with your own tax increase this year.

So glad I relo'd to the great state of Texas:  not having to add to the Tax-achusetts tax coffers was effectively a pay raise on its own.
