Unofficial Problem Bank List & Health Ratings - April 12th Update

The Calculated Risk blog has updated its Unofficial Problem Bank List. There were no bank failures this week, so the only removals to the list were due to mergers. Here are some excerpts from CR’s blog post:
Mergers were the theme of the week as four problem banks exited the list by merging on an unassisted basis. After removal, the list holds 786 institutions with assets of $289.4 billion. A year ago, the list had 944 institutions with assets of $375.3 billion.

Health Rating Updates - 2012 Q4 Data Import Completed

Our financial health ratings are based on bank data that the FDIC releases each quarter. The FDIC and NCUA released Q4 2012 financial data around March 1st. We have imported this data, and all of our bank and credit union financial health ratings are based on this Q4 data.
