Thanks for the info.  Maybe I need to move.  Can't wait to see the list of the "Unsafe" Banks.  I think the main criteria is that we make sure we don't go over the FDIC insurance for any bank no matter what state it is in.

really:  You sure are obsessed with Texas and Kentucky.  Is that where you live?  Maybe 6 months in one and 6 in the other??  I don't ride horses and I hear they are popular in  both states.  Now New York is the place to have fun!  And no horses just lots of taxis and no place to park your cars.  My kind of town!

really:  I think those signs are a farce.  I have never been to a bank even in New York (as you said) which makes one take off their hats or even sunglasses.  Do you really think a bank robber is going to be sure to obey the sign? :)  As usual with so many other things in our country, it's a joke!

but really, you seem to have misunderstood what you read.  "I" asked the guy jokeingly if he was going to take off his hat and "I" don't work for the bank.  I was there waiting for it to open.  I was making a point that I think those signs are probably on doors at many banks in "many" cities and people are disregarding them.  Look, if you are just determined to figure out where I live, why don't you just come out and ask a simple question.  I will give you my same response.  :)  Have a good Saturday, pappy.
