San Francisco Ponders Creating City-Owned Bank

The City and County of San Francisco is mulling the idea of creating its own bank to handle the billions of dollars that flow through city coffers every year.

San Francisco, which has most of its 133 bank accounts at BofA, pays about $2.7 million in bank fees.
