Why The Post Office Needs To Compete With Banks

Monday, February 3, 2014 - 8:08 PM
"If the Postal Service offered basic banking services — nothing fancy, just basic bill paying, check cashing and small dollar loans — then it could provide affordable financial services for underserved families, and, at the same time, shore up its own financial footing."

Can you imagine needing to do a deposit and having to stand in those long postal lines during the holidays or tax time?  I can't think of a worse place to do banking than a post office!

"postal lines"? Why would you stand in those lines instead of going to the banking window if you are going to indulge in banking services at the Post Office?

Ok, so I didn't think about their having a separate area or lines for banking if they were ever to do that.  Thank goodness you reminded me SB or I would be throwing a fit in the post office and get myself arrested due to my own stupidity.  And I couldn't be around here to post everyday.  How sad.
