Calculating Your Yield On An Early Withdrawal From An Ally Bank 5-Year CD

Monday, June 14, 2010 - 12:18 PMAlly Bank - Details
Ally Bank's tiny 60-day early withdrawal penalty continues to get more publicity. The latest comes from Jim at Bargaineering who developed a spreadsheet so you can calculate what your APY would be if you close an Ally Bank CD early. As he explains, an Ally Bank 60-mo CD closed early can provide much higher rates than today's short-term CDs. One note, Ally Bank's 5-year CD rate has already fallen since he wrote the article (down from 2.99% APY to 2.95% APY).
