Consulting Firm Encourages Banks To Dump Unprofitable Customers

Monday, July 5, 2010 - 5:12 PM
From the Consumer Reports Money Blog:
A consulting firm that recommends banks "fire" unprofitable customers has advice for the industry: Dump free checking, add fees, and say "bye-bye" to those customers who don't keep big balances in their checking accounts or don't want to pay those fees.

Looks like we'll have to be extra watchful for new bank fees. It's bad enough that our deposit rates are so low. We definitely don't need fees on top of that.
