1.40% Money Market Promo With Rate Guaranteed For 3 Months At Suntrust

SunTrust Bank is advertising this money market account promotion in Florida. Click the details link to see the Tampa Bay ad (as of 7/11/10). It doesn't seem to be listed on SunTrust's website. I'm not sure if it's available outside of Florida. Here's a summary of the promo:

• 1.40% APY is guaranteed for 3 months
• Minimum balance of $10K (new money)
• Personal checking account required

I reviewed a very similar promo in my SunTrust money market promo review in January. In that post I asked the question if this teaser rate was worthwhile. After 3 months, you will probably be better off at other banks and credit unions like Alliant Credit Union or Sallie Mae Bank.

This promotion is still active. It was advertised in the 8/8/10 edition of the Savannah Morning News.
