Fort Knox FCU Limits Special CD Rates To Local Residents

Fort Knox Federal Credit Union has just started to limit its CD specials to members who are residents of KY, TN or IN. It's rare for credit unions to offer rates or accounts to only certain parts of its membership. I have seen this before at some credit unions which offer high-yield reward checking. If you're an out-of-state member, remember that you have a voice in electing the credit union's board of directors.

The CD rates page now lists the following:

Local Stimulus Special

To qualify for this special, member must live in Kentucky, Indiana or Tennessee.

23 Month - 2.30% APY
14 Month - 1.75% APY

Loyalty Special

To qualify for this special, member must have opened his/her account prior to November 1, 2009.

23 Month - 2.30% APY
14 Month - 1.75% APY
