Habib American Bank's Top CD & IRA CD Rates In CA, NY & NJ

Habib American Bank has been offering very competitive CD and IRA CD rates since my first post on the bank in June. The best rates are in California (as of 8/17/2010):

• 3.00% APY 36-month CD (3.25% for IRA)
• 2.50% APY 24-month CD (2.75% for IRA)

Rates in New York and New Jersey are 0.25% lower.

Several readers were concerned about the bank's Pakistan connection (see my review and readers' comments). It's a subsidiary to a major Pakistani company. However, Habib American Bank is a FDIC member.
