Ally Bank's CD Renewal Bonus Update

Ally Bank (0 stars) - Details
It appears Ally Bank's CD renewal bonus is now 0.25%. So if your Ally CD is near maturity, you should call Ally and see if they can offer you 0.25% above the standard rates listed on the website. Jim at Bargaineering reported on info he received from Ally on this loyalty bonus. There's no guarantee, but it looks like this 0.25% bonus will continue for some time.

It's not as good as late last year and early this year when the loyalty bonus was 0.50%. As I mentioned in a January Ally renewal bonus review, you may be able get the renewal bonus even if you change terms and add money to the renewing CD.

The CSR told me that the loyalty bonus of .25% APY is effective through September, 2010. It will probably be longer, but that's what he could promise. Also, this bonus is not only to roll over the CD, but it can be for any new term, PLUS you can add funds to it for the bonus rate.
