Southern Bank continues to offer several competitive CD and IRA CD rates. The rates have fallen since my June blog post, but they are still attractive compared to what other banks are offering. Some of the best rates as of 8/23/2010 include:

• 3.05% APY 60-month CD
• 2.50% APY 36-month CD
• 2.05% APY 24-month CD
• 1.76% APY 18-month CD
• 1.31% APY 6-month CD

They provide an online application (more like a inquiry form), and it states that only AR and MO residents are eligible to open account.
