Another important thing to note in the San Francisco Business Times Article is that they getting away from CD specials:
The credit union is shifting its focus to sales and service from the more costly and less effective strategy of offering special promotions that pull in money and new members through high-rate deposits but who often don’t take advantage of other services.That's a disappointment. I remember the good old days when they offered many good CD specials.
