Umpqua and Roseburg Forest Products

 

 

I opened an account two years ago and have liked the community-oriented veneer of this bank.

Recently, I learned that the Chairman of the Board of Directors for Umpqua Bank, Allyn C. Ford, is also the President of Roseburg Forest Products, which is known to use clear cutting of the forest (as opposed to selective cutting) and heavy use of pesticides.  I am concerned that Umpqua supports these environmentally-harmful practices, and others like it, despite how it looks on the outside.
