Verizon Stops Manual Credit/Debit Card Transactions In 30-60 Days

Friday, September 24, 2010 - 12:05 PM
New vendor will charge $3,50 per transaction, ouch!  It sems to be state-dependent (e.g., CA/MA; but not VA).

It seems to be state-dependent (MA/CA definitely affected).  Just go to the payment option:

Important: In approximately 30-60 days, payments made using a credit/debit/ATM card will be processed by a vendor. The vendor will assess a convenience fee of $3.50 for each payment made. To avoid incurring a fee, we encourage you to enroll in Auto Pay or make your one-time payments on Verizon.com using a bank account.

Verizon apparently wants to push their customers to make either auto-payments or ACH payments.  I wonder if customers with RCAs splitting up their payments into several smaller amounts had any effect on Verizon's decision?
