The Cause Of Last May's Stock Market Flash Crash

Saturday, October 2, 2010 - 6:11 PM
Based on the government's report on May's stock market flash crash along with info from an anonymous federal official, this Washington Post article described how a mutual fund company may have caused the flash crash. According to the article, it was triggered by its sale of E-Minis which are financial contracts that are based on the S&P 500 index.

It doesn't help me feel better about the stock market.
