Credit Card Deal May Aid Some Consumers

The Justice Department on Monday sued Visa, MasterCard and American Express for anti competitive practices, but a proposed settlement was reached with Visa and MasterCard. According to this article at Boston.com, some consumers may benefit:

Under the terms of the proposed settlement, merchants could offer consumers an immediate discount or rebate for using a particular type of payment, a particular credit card network, or a low-cost card within that network.

However, consumers who are heavy users of credit cards with lucrative reward programs may lose out.
