THIS BANK SUCKS!!!
BBVA Compass
(1 stars)The workers are either ignorant or their computers are lame or I dnt know what the hell is wrong with this lame company. When I had a problem they say they can't do anything about the issue and tell you to contact some other idiots who apparently don't know anything about the issue when they are supposed to know, so they tell you to contact the same idiots you contacted before. So this goes on and on cuz they dnt give an F about the customer. They just care about the freakin money and getting richer. I feel sorry for the creators and managers of the BBVA compass stupid lame bank. I will leave this bank soon, which they will surely make it hard to do by offering me discounts or some king of rewards. Tragic T_T

So far, my experience was Compass Bank has been excellent. The staff at my branch has been unfailingly polite and helpful. Phone support is good. Last, but certainly not least, they periodically have some very generous bonus opportunities. I was one of many who took advantage of a recent up-to-$1700 business promotion, and the bonus was deposited in my business savings account with little delay. I expect to receive a $200 gift card in November from a personal checking promotion that was running concurrently with the business one.
My only compliant is that they should integrate all their on-line banking services, checking and savings accounts, credit cards, and loans into one sign-on, and have the same functionality that one has in the individual signons for those products. This is a minor thing, though.

I have no complaint with this bank and the only reason that I do not make more use of my account at this bank is that I prefer higher interest paying online banks.
I opened my account to get the $150 bonus and I just wonder why so many banks offer one time bonuses rather than higher interest rates to earn their customers' allegiance.
I would rather deal with one bank as good as this one than use 15 RCA accounts.

I don't know what specific gripe this customer had with BBVA Compass, but I have no positive feeling toward this bank because they took over deposits with SmartyPig this year and promptly cut the interest rate on those accounts from 2.15 to 1.75 APY. I would also question the approriateness of "representatives" of the bank posting on this site. There are many other ways the banks communicate with patrons, and I for one don't put any confidence in anything stated by one of these bank employees online.

well, it seems that the bank representative is part of the social media team and it is her job to find, reply, and offer help to customers with issues who choose to voice their frustration online.
Anyways, I closed my mortage with BBVA Compass and I did not pay any lender fees, no origination charges, low interest rate, my first payment is not until 5 months later, I received a $300 bonus in my checking account 2 weeks later and received a $75 dining discount card in the mail. It feels good not to have a mortgage payment for 5 months. We bought new furniture! Not bad.
Check it out, its called the First time buyer program.
Its pretty easy guys, balance your checkbook and you wont have any issues. I have never been overdrawn and had any problems with fees in the past 5 years banking with BBVA Compass

Compass Bank SUCKS!! We have been banking with Compass Bank for 11 years – the majority of those years as a “preferred client” – whatever that means (apparently nothing!). In 2009 we reported a debit card as lost or stolen – whoops..Compass Bank neglected to actually cancel the card so, here we are in 2011 and whoops…over $600 in fraudulent charges were debited from our checking account by some Chinese retailer – as I was trying to research what the hell was going on…this is when I learned of the “whoops” we forgot to actually cancel the card. Now, this is where the fun begins…we will refund your money…whoops, we didn’t receive the paperwork correctly so now we will debit the money..whoops – now we will reimburse your account…NSF fee’s we will consider paying you back for those….we will consider paying some of the charges that are hitting your now overdrawn account (because they keep pulling funds out..then putting them back in…) this is been going on for over three months. As of today, we are overdrawn – AGAIN – we have over $150 in NSF charges (just for today – yesterday was $228) – I will get this resolved to MY SATISFACTION – I’ve already begun to shut down our accounts with Compass and I will make sure I tell as many people as possible to beware…BEWARE of Compass Bank.
