Westfield Bank's 3.50% Reward Checking Account Is No Longer Nationwide

Westfield Bank's 3.50% reward checking account used to be the best nationwide reward checking account. However, I just noticed that they're now restricting new accounts to primarily Ohio residents. Here is what its online applications state:

Westfield Bank is a community bank serving the residents of the state of Ohio and Westfield Insurance appointed agencies.

Bummer. I like these guys, but hopefully current account-holders will stay grandfathered, so the early-openers may have better chances of keeping the rate competitive. Fingers crossed.

I like them too and I'm glad I have my bank account with Westfield Bank. They truly have great service. I experienced that first-hand this week when I had my wallet stolen and they were quick to respond and help. They handled everything from issuing a new account to making sure all of my automatic payments got transferred to the new account. At a time when I felt most vulnerable, I was relieved to know that my accounts were safe and the details were completely handled.
