Citizens Bank's New Monthly Checking Account Fee

Saturday, November 13, 2010 - 1:44 PMCitizens Bank
Banks are starting to charge monthly fees on "free" checking accounts unless customers perform a required number of transactions or maintain a minimum balance. Here's the new Citizens Bank fee described by this Boston.com article:
Starting next month, Citizens, the second-largest retail bank in New England, said it will charge $4.99 a month for its popular Personal Green checking account unless customers maintain a minimum balance of $1,500, or make at least five payment transactions each month.

Other new or increased fees include a $2 charge for a paper statement.

Update: I had missed this thread that had already noted these new fees.
