The $1,000 maximum deposit (per member) hurts this deal, but at least it doesn't require a checking account. If you deposit $1,000 into a 10% 3-month CD, you'll make about $25.

The credit union does have some decent rates on its regular long-term CDs. However, the early withdrawal penalty is higher than average.
