I'm not really "coaxed out of my shell" as the author put it. The first thing there really is not way to work the percentages. It's more of a a poker game. I can't make a statement like this:
"There is a 70% chance I will earn 6% on a mutual fund this year"
But I can make this statement:
"That is a 99.99% chance I will make 3.5% on a CD this year"
With computers running the system now, and so much insider information being available to a few at the top, its hard to justify risking much in this environment.
