A+ Federal Credit Union has long offered its StartUP Share Certificate with a 5.00% APY. It's a 1-year CD with a maximum deposit of $1,000. There's a limit of one per member.

Minimum deposit is $10, and it allows add-on deposits.

The 5% is about 3.5% higher than what you can get for a 1-year term these days. That results in $35 extra dollars for a $1K deposit.

This CD alone is probably not enough reason to join this credit union, but if you join for other reasons, there's no reason not to open this CD.
