How Lending Club Began

This Forbes article has an interesting look at the history of Lending Club and its founder Renaud Laplanche. When Laplanche was starting his first company, he had paid many of the expenses using his credit card. That eventually got him thinking of a better and cheaper way for borrowers that could avoid the banks.
