Four Banks Failures So Far Today

Friday, December 17, 2010 - 5:20 PM
This might be the bank failure climax of 2010. As of 5:20pm there have already been four bank closures. One was in Florida and three were in Georgia. All were assumed by other banks. However, one of the acquiring banks is not assuming "certain out-of-state CDs". I'll have more on these bank failures, this week's credit union liquidation and any bank failures that occur later today in my Friday night bank failure summary post.

In the mean time keep an eye on the FDIC's press release page

Now up to 6 banks

Strangely the one in Arkansas was rated 3.5* by Bauer.

Thanks. I've updated the posts changing the question marks with zeros. BauerFinancial was quick yesterday in updating its ratings to FDIC on the failed banks.

Here's the link to my bank failure summary blog post (which may be the last one for 2010).
