Is Your Personal Inflation Rate Higher Than The CPI?
From the CBS MoneyWatch Retirement Roadmap blog:
According to the official numbers, CPI clocked in at a paltry 1.1% on a year-over-year basis. But that might differ from your personal rate of inflation.According to this article, you might have seen a 1.1% inflation last year (or lower) if you didn't have kids in college, didn't have much health care costs and didn't drive much. I have a feeling most saw more inflation than that even if they matched the ideal case.
