Concerns That Fed's Interchange Fee Proposal Will Hurt Small Institutions

Credit Union National Association article describes some concerns that the proposed debit card interchange fee regulation from the Fed "may have unintended consequences" for credit unions and consumers. The president of the Credit Union National Association "expressed skepticism at the effectiveness of the $10 billion exemption cap, noting that there is nothing in the Fed's proposal that creates an enforcement mechanism to protect small issuers."
