Too Many Megabanks And Not Enough Midsize Banks

Thursday, December 30, 2010 - 6:46 PM

If big banks start failing again, what will replace them? In the United States and Europe, that is a question with unsatisfactory answers in the aftermath of the financial crisis.

The article makes a good point. Many of the large banks that failed or were near failure were acquired by the Megabanks or by foreign banks. It shows the lack of US-based midsize banks that were capable of these acquisitions.
