Do You Need A Chinese Bank Account?

From the Wall Street Journal:
Bank of China here in the U.S. has started allowing American customers to open an account and to invest up to $4,000 per day - and a total of $20,000 a year - in Chinese yuan, or renminbi.

I would not invest in it due to lack of in-depth knowledge of China's economic situation and unpredictable nature of China's political condition (over the long term).
