PNC Ending PNC Points For Most Accounts

PNC has added language to its website:

"Effective 4/30/2011: Free Checking, Free Checking Classic, Foundation, Virtual Wallet and Virtual Wallet Student accounts will no longer be eligible for enrollment in the PNC points program. Free Checking, Free Checking Classic, Foundation, Virtual Wallet and Virtual Wallet Student account customers enrolled in the points program before April 30, 2011 will continue to earn points through September 12, 2011. Free Checking, Free Checking Classic, Foundation, Virtual Wallet and Virtual Wallet Student account customers can continue to participate in the points program by transferring to one of our points-eligible checking products before September 12th, however, if you do not choose to transfer, then you may only redeem accrued points under the then-current terms and conditions of the PNC points program through December 31, 2012."

In addition, PNC's free checking accounts will no longer be eligible for ATM reimbursements.
