Discover Bank Agrees To Purchase Allstate Bank Deposits

From Allstate's press release:

Under the terms of the agreement, Discover Bank will assume the Allstate Bank deposit accounts and provide banking products and services to Allstate customers. Allstate Financial does not intend to originate banking products or services after the transaction closes.

Looking back at my archives, I found only one blog post that I did on Allstate Bank back in 2008. It was on a rare Allstate promotion. Most of the time the rates were not competitive. Allstate never seemed enthusiastic about the bank.
