New BOA Customer

Bank of America (4 stars)
Just opened a new checking account and savings account this past week. All of the staff in the bank were very friendly, explained everything about the accounts and took me step by step to decide what was best for me. I ended up getting a great rate on the savings account and a card for the checking account that was good for use the same day. Overall good experience.

What was the "great" rate on the savings account?

More than likely the "great rate" on the savings account was .05% as posted on their site.

Who here believes the recent flurry of "I love my Megabank" reviews are for real?  Is the average bank customer so completely detached from the reality of low rates and excessive fees to consider them insignificant?  This site provides great comparative product & rate information, yet it seems to many an ATM on every street corner and hot looking tellers is the principal criteria in the decision process.  No wonder Dimon and Moynihan rake in multi-millions with profits up 40-50% as they fleece the sheep. Apparently they've done an outstanding job of market analysis and deserve every penny.

The recent flurry of reviews appear to have been posted within several short time spans by first-time posters;  I'm inclined to believe they're either faux or somebody's perception of satire...

I agree -  it is frustrating reading these positive reviews of the mega-banks. I wish everyone would boycott these banks and force them to raise their rates to attract deposits. I guess most bank customers are idiots and more than willing to accept the crumbs these lousy banks offer them.
