Best Customer Service!

Bank of America (5 stars)
I just want to say that the customer service reps at bank of America are the best!  I have been a customer for a few years now, and I have never had a problem calling in with an issue.  The customer serice reps are always very helpful, and don't make you feel like it is a bother for them to answer my questions!  I highly recommend Bank of America!  You can't beat the friendly and helpful associates!

Your positive experience with BofA must be unique, given BofA's absolutely horrendous reputation! Do you think that they might be trying to fix their reputation with some positive P.R.?

Can you tell me what branch you bank at?

Before I closed my accounts at BOA, I banked at two branches.

I believe they were having a competition to see who could give the worst service.

Between the Old Tappan NJ branch and the Norwood NJ branch, the winner was Norwood NJ.

I can give you a couple of examples of BofA's "best customer service." In 2006, my cousin was injured in an auto accident, which left her unable to work, and having to go through multiple surgeries with little success. The resulting drop in income meant that she and her husband simply didn't have enough money to pay their expenses, and their falling FICO scores caused several credit cards to hike their minimum payments. On my advice, she called all six credit card issuers to ask for a reduction in interest rates. American Express offered her 0% interest for six months, and all of the others agreed to lower her interest rates, except for one. Who was the holdout? You guessed it -- Bank of America, who told her that if she didn't pay they would sue her! The irony was that she had deposit accounts with BofA, but that relationship didn't seem to matter. My own experience with BofA was with a former MBNA credit card that was taken over by BofA. I hadn't been using it, so BofA closed the account. I don't have a problem with BofA having done that, but they did so without informing me! I found out when I tried to use the card and it was rejected, and discovered that BofA had closed the account about seven months earlier. Total lack of communication about a unilateral closure of an account doesn't seem to be "best customer service" to me. In fact, it is no customer service at all!
