PNC Banking

PNC Bank, National Association (4 stars)
My husband and I have a PNC account that we really enjoy. We originally had National City, but stayed with PNC when they were bought. We really enjoy the extra features that PNC has to offer, such as allowing you acess to your money sooner. It makes it very convienent to leave the money in the bank instead of withdrawing all the time. I have all I need as long as I have my Debit Card with me. I also enjoy that my bank is very friendly and personal. They strive to call us by name, and are very attentive to our needs, even the needs of our two toddlers (lollipops of course) I love PNC bank and as long as they continue to treat us well, we will gladly bank through them.

I worked at First National, then First of American, then National City, then PNC for 30 years. (Same bank new names) The bank has for most of those years had lollipops for all not just children. Adults will come to the counter, get a lollipop and get back in line. Most looked for certain flavors. Not sure if it is still done but the containers changed with the season, miniature sand pails in the summer, turkey dishes at Thanksgiving, snowmen dishes during the winter, Santa dishes at Christmas time, bunny dishes at Easter, hearts for valentines day and 4 leaf clover dishes for St Patricks Day etc. We picked them up on sale after the holiday and saved them for each holiday. Customers loved it. At Christmas we tried to find the miniature candy canes. On the third of the month we put out  cookies and coffee and if anyone had time (even customers) home made goodies were put out. Our manager had certain days (usually Friday's) but not all Fridays that she would cook hot dogs on an electric grill for customers. We had baskets of goodies we had drawings for when customers opened accounts,  and sometimes just for being a customer. We had a candle light dinner for valentines day at a local restuarant, a turkey with all the trimmings at Thanksgiving, a ham dinner at Easter, a bike during the spring, some times a grill for the tail gate for the beginning of football season, a drawing for the drag races.  Something was always planned. We had a Christmas tree where someone would take a card for a boy or girl a certain age to donate a gift, we had a canned food drive. Our manager was a very considerate person even to her employees. For the customers she would go or send one of us to pick up a deposit if they were sick or had to stay home because they did not have a car and it was raining and could not walk, she even arranged for  a person to pick up a older person without a car to take her and pick her up to a movie (that only played in the evening) that a granddaughter had something to do with.
