Regulation's Impact On Overdraft Revenue Is Minimal

It was claimed that the overdraft regulation that took effect last year was going to make checking accounts more costly for banks since banks would receive less overdraft fees. According to this Financial Times article, banks are expected to bring in more overdraft fees in 2011 than in 2010. It turns out most consumers, especially those who overdraw the most, agreed to opt-in for the old overdraft policies.
