How To Reduce The Bad Effects From Bank Mistakes

Don't depend on direct deposits or bill payments to be done at specific dates. Even though the banks may have been consistent in the past, changes at the bank can throw the timing off at times. These are some lessons learned in this Money Crashers blog post, 4 bank errors and mistakes waiting to happen.

One thing not mentioned but applies to reward checking account holders is to make sure your last debit card purchase for the month isn't made too late. Debit card purchases often take more time to post than you might think.
