Unintentional Sign-Up Of Bank Of America Customer Years Program
Bank of America (0 stars) - DetailsA Consumerist reader writes that she was wrongly signed up for the Bank of America Customer Years program. She had received an unsolicited call in which she thinks they logged her response of "yes, send me more information" as "yes, sign me up for this mysterious program." Her mistake was not noticing the $11.95 monthly charge until 10 months after the charge started. Both the Bank of America dispute unit and the Customer Years unit are denying her request for a refund.
One lesson is to never say anything with "yes" when you receive those unsolicited calls offering services.
The other lesson is to check your bank transactions at least once a month and report any suspicious charges immediately to your bank.
