How To Stop Blank Checks In The Mail From Credit Card Companies

Credit card companies often send their customers blank checks to encourage spending. Most people know these aren't good deals. If you use these checks, it'll be similar to a credit card cash advance with high interest that accrues immediately.

The fear of these blank checks is that they fall into the hands of thieves. This Boston Globe article discusses these credit card blank checks and how you can get the companies to stop sending you these.

Just filled in and signed a blank check from Chase Freedom: 0% APR until 4/12 and transaction fee waived. So no! Keep them babies coming!

Seriously though: I do worry about ID theft and fraudulent use of those checks if falling in the wrong hands.
