Security Bank Of Texas Drops RCA Rate From 3.51%APY To 3.23%APY Effective 8/1/11

Saturday, July 30, 2011 - 4:00 PMSecurity Bank - Details
There was no notice of this change in the E-statement for the qualification cycle which just completed, nor has there been any other notification.  However, the website has been updated with the new APY.

The RCA cap is unchanged at $50K.  The RealSaver account APY has dropped from 2% to 1.83% on balances up to $50K.

@51hh, unless my eyes are playing tricks on me, the Security Bank website is stating 3.23%APY - putting the pure RCA rate at something close to 3.18%.

"Our RealRewards Checking account offers 3.23% Annual Percentage Yield (APY)* and nationwide ATM fee refunds each qualification cycle. Those rewards are automatically transferred into your RealSaver account, where you earn another 1.83% APY* on your savings balance!"

@51hh it seems we are both right.  The bank is offering a RCA with the 3.28% APY, and a RCA with RealSaver at the 3.23%APY.   The second one seems to be the better deal if you have over $50K, since you earn 1.83% on the RealSaver funds as long as you meet the RCA requirements.
