Bad PR yes. I almost panicked because I needed a statement for closing on a home - fortunately, I got it eventually, phew!

I got through to one of their CSR on the phone. Basically they hope to be up Friday morning but they can't guarantee it. Very bad PR for their business.

The site is still down. They can't give an estimated time of a fix. It sounds like they are clueless. One can only do transactions over the phone or use a paper check. They should start pulling all their ads about how great their internet banking is. It's all malarkey.

I went into a local bank and opened up an account on 8/19/11. As of today I have cleared out all but $20 of a total of $55,000 between checking and savings. When I contacted Ally on 8/18 I received the same information as shown above. I told Ally this was unforgivable for Internet banking -- with no brick and mortar locations to visit to resolve any issues. They gave no apology and no estimated time when the problems would be resolved. Good bye Ally -- even with the higher interest rates--they need to realize that we need to take care of business.
