TCF Bank Ending Miles Plus Debit Rewards Program

Effective August 25, TCF Bank will be ending its debit rewards program, TCF Miles Plus.

TCF Bank, based in Minnesota, has decided to end Miles Plus because it’s becoming too expensive to continue. Due to the swipe fee caps of 21 cents put in place by the Durbin Amendment, many banks are already following suit, including Chase and Wells Fargo. Others such as BBVA are transitioning their debit rewards program into merchant rewards.
