Reasons High Dividend Stocks And ETFs Will Outperform Stock Market

Saturday, September 10, 2011 - 9:45 AM
From the Wall Street Journal:
To some investors clinging to memories of a booming stock market, dividend-collecting might sound boring. But there are two good reasons to believe that boring will outperform in coming years.

Two high dividend exchange-traded funds mentioned in the article include the PowerShares Dividend Achievers Portfolio ETF and the Vanguard High Dividend Yield ETF.

One thing the article doesn't mention is total annual returns. The 5-year average annual total returns for the PowerShares Dividend Achievers ETF is -0.18%. For the Vanguard High Dividend Yield ETF, it's -0.43% since its inception on 11/10/06.
