Avoid New Bank Fee By Switching To Value Checking Account

Wells Fargo Bank (3 stars)
I too am angry that Wells Fargo is now charging for their 'free' checking account and am looking at other banks. I have never had problems with them before and am reluctant to leave. The reviews of the other banks are pretty acrid. However, it seems that you can convert your checking to a Value Checking account which is free with direct deposit but seemingly the same level of services. I have not yet made the conversion but will do so soon. Why the bank rather risks losing long-time customers rather than ask everyone to convert their accounts shall remain a mystery...

Experts and insiders predicted that the next round of financial institution fees would be far quieter than the debit card fees which were recently ditched by some high-profile banks. Some brand new financial institution charges are already appearing exactly like that. Some banks are said to raise unexpected fees this year, that'll surely make most people displeased. Once more this is an entity of more fee. Rather than offering free accounts, they intend to make an advantage on the deposits.  The proof is here: New bank fees already being quietly added.

I'd be careful clicking on the link provided by poster #1.  Something about this article is setting off warning bells for me and the same link has been posted to 5 blogs / message boards by first-time users.
