U.S. Bank's New Mobile Banking Fees

This is another case of banks adding new fees. The New York Times reported that U.S. Bank has added a $0.50 fee for depositing checks using your smart phone.

I reviewed U.S. Bank's Mobile Banking FAQs, and here are two fees that are listed:

• $0.50 fee per deposited check using DepositPoint Mobile
• To send a payment via Popmoney, U.S. Bank Mobile App customers pay 1% of the total payment amount or $0.25, whichever amount is greater.

U.S. Bank does not charge a fee to access m.usbank.com or to download and use the Mobile Wallet. If fees for service features are added in the future, we'll notify you prior to completing the transaction, and you'll have the option to cancel the transaction to avoid the fee.
