One man is suing Bank of America after the company allegedly handed over his account to another customer with the same name.
One interesting note is that the man's name is Konstantinos Alexopoulos. Perhaps it's like "John Smith" in Greece?
Even with the same name, they had different social security numbers, so it's odd that such a mistake was made.
The man did make one mistake: it appears he didn't check his account from 2003 when he stopped receiving statements to 2005. If he had an online account that he checked regularly, he could have caught the mistake before having to file a lawsuit.
The HuffingtonPost article lists a few other interesting Bank of America mistakes like when it issued the same account number to two customers in Riverside, California.
