Special 10-Year CD Rate At Chase Bank In Some States

Chase is offering a 2.25% APY on its 10-year CD special in some states. You can check if your area has this rate at Chase Bank's CD rates page. I see 2.25% for California and NYC zip codes. For most other zip codes, the yield is only 1.75%.

Chase CD specials require a Chase Checking account.

Another important note is that Chase has a severe early withdrawal penalty: 3% of principal withdrawn plus $25.

This rate is too low and the term too long for me to consider it a good deal that deserves a blog post, but I thought it would be worth mentioning in the forum.
