CSR at pfed who I spoke with on 12/22 (Mandy) said there may be a 3.00% 10 yr. special in Jan.

I am currently trying to confirm this. If you have heard similar news, please leave a comment

I was disappointed when PenFed changed their minds last January in offering 10-year CDs to all members. Maybe the 10-year CDs will finally be released this January.

I just called PenFed this morning and they confirmed that there is not a 3.00% APY 10-year CD in the works. According to the CSR I spoke with, there hasn't been any mention of the 10-year CD since last year. Too bad, I would have loved to take advantage.

I finally received a reply from my PenFed contact. As we already knew, the 10-year CD is still not available. Here is an excerpt from the email:

Unfortunately, it sounds as though our member was not given correct information. I have confirmed with our executive team that PenFed is not offering a 10-year certificate for January 2012.
