Re. Checking Account Requirement To Open A CD

Nutgraf - I'm planning to open a CD with DCU. I contacted them and they said that a checking account is not required. The only requirement is to open a savings account with $5.

It should be noted that we and DCU list the relationship rates which do require an active checking account. Without the checking, rates are 0.25% lower than what we post. I have more details in this DCU CD review.
