Purging Old Credit Card Data From A Company's Database

Closing an account at a company doesn't mean your credit card information has been purged, and as we have seen, hackers have been able to steal credit card information from company databases. This New York Times Bucks blog post describes how a woman tried to get Blockbuster to delete her credit card information from her defunct account. She found out it's not possible.
